This DIY was my biggest one to date šŸ˜… I am so proud of the outcome and how great it turned out šŸ‘šŸ¼

This DIY headboard was made for a king size bed. The dimensions and materials used will be mentioned below. If you are wanting to remake this project just accommodate the dimensions to your bed size.

4 2x2’x8 cut to length (2 @ 7ft & 2 @ 60in)

4 L corner braces to attach the wood pieces together

Leather vinyl material (purchased 5 yards only ended up using 4)

Drill

2 1/2 in nails

Staple gun

Staples

Scissors

Headboard How To

My Instagram is linked in this website to view how it was put together but I will explain as best as I can how it was done.

First step to stating this project is measuring, measuring and measuring šŸ˜‚ You wanna make sure your measurements are perfect because once cut it’s hard to fix.

After all measurements are double checked and cuts have been made it’s time to attach the frame.

The frame was attached by 4 L corner braces using 2 1/2 in screws. I purchased my braces from lowes and they came in a 4 pack with the screws already included. Huge help šŸ‘šŸ¼

Once the frame is attached it’s time to work on cutting the vinyl into strips to make the woven pattern. I used the 2x2 board to cut my strips. I went to work at stenciling and cutting all my pieces.

Once all the strips have been cut it’s time to work on attaching them to the frame and get to working on the pattern. I first worked on stapling the horizontal strips, again using my 2x2 board as the separator to space my strips. Then I stapled my vertical strips on the top of the frame and began weaving my pattern and finishing out the pattern by stapling the strips at the bottom on my frame.

After the pattern has been finalized and all has been stapled you’re pretty much done with your headboard. šŸ¤©šŸ™ŒšŸ¼

Now, to attach my headboard and ensure that it’s secured to the wall; my husband and I used heavy duty command strips along with nails. We had to make sure it was extra secure with having a baby laying down with us every now and then in our bed.

We LOVE the outcome of this project! I am beyond proud of us in accomplishing this task to jazz up our master bedroom while on a budget.
